About Us

Vision

Our vision is for the Church, as an institution of faith, to have its rights protected within the ecclesiastical and political systems, for its values, beliefs, and traditions to be respected. We envision a future where the Church's members can freely live and worship in any part of the country, as is their right as citizens. We strive to see an end to the ongoing attacks and displacement of the Church and its members, and for the Church and its faithful to enjoy universal peace.

Importance

The increasing frequency and severity of attacks and injustices against Orthodox Christians, coupled with the growing structural and political support for these actions, has made it urgent to establish an organization. This organization would raise awareness among the Orthodox community about the subtle and overt attempts by certain ethnic and political groups to undermine and destroy the Orthodox Church through sophisticated and calculated strategies, including the propagation of false narratives. By fostering unity and vigilance, this organization would enable the Orthodox community to effectively defend its faith and church.

Operation of the Alliance

This alliance is a group of volunteer believers who respect the doctrines and canons of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. They work in collaboration with all those who contribute to improving the Church's services and the well-being of its members. However, this alliance is not affiliated with any specific association or institution within the Church. The reason for this stance is to ensure that the alliance can operate independently and impartially, serving the needs of all members.

Goals

The global alliance primarily focuses on the following:

• Protecting the safety and unity of the faithful: The alliance works tirelessly to ensure the long-term safety and unity of the faithful, to mitigate the dangers facing the Church and its members, and to prevent future occurrences of the kind of harm that has been inflicted.

• Promoting peace and growth within the Church: By collaborating with relevant Church bodies, the alliance works to carry out activities that promote peace and growth within the Church.

• Defending the faith: The alliance identifies and refutes false accusations and claims made by various interested parties. It brings together scholars and organizes forums to facilitate informed discussions and provide evidence-based responses.
